Delphi and Osios Lukas Monastery Day Tour

This tour gives you the opportunity to explore the Greek countryside, villages on Mount Parnassus, the famous Oracle of Delphi, a medival Monastery and of course taste the Greek cousine. You will start from Athens and follow the National Highway. Crossing two provinces of Greece you will get to Osios Lukas Monastery, a beautiful settlement organised by monks in the 11th century, protected by UNESCO for its unique gold mosaic decoration. You will have some time to visit the monastery and feel the surrounding atmosphere of serenity. Next follows a drive up to Parnassons mountain. Passing by little villages you will reach the Oracle of Delphi. There you will have time to visit the most famous and powerful Ancient Greek sanctuary of Apollo where in antiquity people would go to get answers. The sanctuary that formed history for many centuries still preserves the temple of Apollo, the Theatre, the Stadium and many evidence of the numerous offerings to the prophet god. Before leaving the site you will also visit the Museum of Delphi famous for its Charioteer bronze statue. Propably hungry by then we will drive to the village of Delphi and enjoy an authentic Greek launch. Before we leave the area we will make a small stop at Arachova villlage which is on our way back to Athens.
